Lab Resources 5' Extension View

  • List of all sequences that may be appended to the 5' end of an ORF to aid in sequence analysis.

Fields

  • Name is the name of the Extension.
  • 5' Extension is the nucleotide code of the Extension.

Add New 5' Extension

This adds a new row to the 5' Extension resource table.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. On the 5' Extension menu click Add New 5' Extension.

Note

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Remove Rows

This removes the selected rows from the 5' Extension resource table.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. Select one or more rows in the table.
  3. On the 5' Extension menu click Remove Rows.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Copy Rows

This copies the data in the selected rows of the 5' Extension resource table to local clipboard.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. Select one or more rows in the table.
  3. On the 5' Extension menu click Copy Rows.

Note

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Cut Rows

This removes the selected rows of the 5' Extension resource table and copies them to local clipboard.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. Select one or more rows in the table.
  3. On the 5' Extension menu click Cut Rows.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Paste Rows

This adds the rows in local clipboard to the 5' Extension resource table.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. On the 5' Extension menu click Paste Rows.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Undo

This cancels the last change to the 5' Extension resource table.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. On the 5' Extension menu click Undo.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Load 5' Extension File

This loads a comma separated value file and adds the data to the 5' Extension resource table.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. On the 5' Extension menu click Load 5' Extension File.
  3. In the folder list, locate and open the folder that contains the file.
  4. Click the file, and then click Open.

Note

  • The CSV file consists of the header row followed by rows that contain comma separated data.
  • To see the exact file format, do a save file for a table with entries.
  • The data in the table will be replaced with the data in the file.
  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Save 5' Extension File

This saves the 5' Extension resource table as a comma separated value file.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. On the 5' Extension menu click Save 5' Extension File.
  3. If you want to save the file in a different folder, locate and open the folder.
  4. In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
  5. Click Save.

Note

  • The CSV file consists of the header row followed by rows that contain comma separated data.

Save 5' Extension

This saves the 5' Extension in the database.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. On the 5' Extension menu click Save 5' Extension, or click the Save 5' Extension button in the button bar.

Note

  • This will replace the information for the current 5' Extension in the database.

Close 5' Extension

This closes the window.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. On the 5' Extension menu click Close 5' Extension, or click the X button on the window's Title bar.

Note

  • If the content of the View has been modified since the last Save operation, the user will be given an option to proceed and discard the changes, or to cancel the operation.

Refresh 5' Extension

This reverts the data for the 5' Extension to the version in the database.

  1. Make the 5' Extension window active in the Board.
  2. On the 5' Extension menu click Refresh 5' Extension.

Note

  • This will reload the 5' Extension from the database.
  • If the content of the View has been modified since the last Save operation, the user will be given an option to proceed and discard the changes, or to cancel the operation.

General Comments

  • To open the 5' Extension window in the Board, on the Options menu select Lab Resources then click 5' Extension.
  • This Lab Resource is maintained by the Lab Master, or, by a Lab Member with a Can Do privilege.
  • The Can Do Resource value is LAB_RSC_GCEXPORT5EXTENSION.
