Lab Resources Plasmid Components Restriction

  • List of all Restriction Enzymes used during cloning.

Fields

  • Name is the name of the Restriction Enzyme.
  • Recognition Sequence is the nucleotide sequence that is recognized by the Restriction Enzyme.
  • After Cut is the nucleotide sequence of the cut site.
  • URL is the URL for a web page for the Restriction Enzyme.

Add New Restriction

This adds a new row to the Restriction resource table.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Add New Restriction.

Note

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Remove Rows

This removes the selected rows from the Restriction resource table.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. Select one or more rows in the table.
  3. On the Restriction menu click Remove Rows.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Copy Rows

This copies the data in the selected rows of the Restriction resource table to local clipboard.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. Select one or more rows in the table.
  3. On the Restriction menu click Copy Rows.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Cut Rows

This removes the selected rows of the Restriction resource table and copies them to local clipboard.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. Select one or more rows in the table.
  3. On the Restriction menu click Cut Rows.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Paste Rows

This adds the rows in local clipboard to the Restriction resource table.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Paste Rows.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Undo

This cancels the last change to the Restriction resource table.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Undo.

  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Load Restriction File

This loads a comma separated value file and adds the data to the Restriction resource table.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Load Restriction File.
  3. In the folder list, locate and open the folder that contains the file.
  4. Click the file, and then click Open.

Note

  • The CSV file consists of the header row followed by rows that contain comma separated data.
  • To see the exact file format, do a save file for a table with entries.
  • The data in the table will be replaced with the data in the file.
  • The table must be saved before changes in the database occur.

Save Restriction File

This saves the Restriction resource table as a comma separated value file.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Save Restriction File.
  3. If you want to save the file in a different folder, locate and open the folder.
  4. In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
  5. Click Save.

Note

  • The CSV file consists of the header row followed by rows that contain comma separated data.

Save Restriction

This saves the Restriction in the database.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Save Restriction, or click the Save Restriction button in the button bar.

Note

  • This will replace the information for the current Restriction in the database.

Close Restriction

This closes the window.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Close Restriction, or click the X button on the window's Title bar.

Note

  • If the content of the View has been modified since the last Save operation, the user will be given an option to proceed and discard the changes, or to cancel the operation.

Refresh Restriction

This reverts the data for the Restriction to the version in the database.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Refresh Restriction.

Note

  • This will reload the Restriction from the database.
  • If the content of the View has been modified since the last Save operation, the user will be given an option to proceed and discard the changes, or to cancel the operation.

Display URL

This will display the web page from URL field for the selected Restriction in a browser.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Display URL.

View REBASE URL

This will display the REBASE web page for the selected Restriction in a browser.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click View REBASE URL.

Note

Load REBASE.gcg File

This loads a gcg format file and adds the data to the Restriction resource table.

  1. Make the Restriction window active in the Board.
  2. On the Restriction menu click Load REBASE.gcg File.
  3. Enter the File Name.
  4. In Select File popup, in the folder list, locate and open the folder that contains the file.
  5. Click the file, and then click Select File.
  6. Select Append to Table or replace Table.
  7. Click Load.

Note

General Comments

  • To open the Restriction window in the Board, on the Options menu select Lab Resources then select Plasmid Components then click Restriction.
  • This Lab Resource is maintained by the Lab Master, or, by a Lab Member with a Can Do privilege.
  • The Can Do Resource value is LAB_RSC_PLASMIDCOMPONENTS.
