Searching for Time Requests (RQ)

Search By User

  1. Open the 'Search By User' popup.
    • In the Main Window, on the Search menu's Time Request (RQ) submenu, click By User, or
    • In the Main Window, select Time Request (RQ) from the drop-down list on the button bar, then click on the appropriate 'magnifying glass' button, or
    • A previous Time Request search can be replaced by a new one by right-clicking on a TIMEREQUEST node in the Search Results Tree and selecting By User.
  2. Set the search criteria in the 'Search by User' popup.
    • Recipient Lab
    • PI Name
    • Status
    • Billing Period
    • Start Date
    • End Date
    • Spectrometer
    • Sort By
    • User Name is set to that of the user currently logged in to Sesame and cannot be changed in this popup.
    • Lab Name is a drop-down list of labs to which the current user has submitted Target Requests.
    • Request Status is a drop-down list of Request Statuses.
      • NEW
      • SUBMITTED
      • VALID
      • INVALID
    • Target Status is a drop-down list of Target Status entries maintained by the Lab Master, for example Accepted/Active, Accepted/Work Stopped, Deficient, Pending, Rejected.
  3. Click Search in the search popup.

Search By Lab

  1. Open the 'Search By Lab' popup.
    • In the Main Window, on the Search menu's Time Request (RQ) submenu, click By Lab, or
    • In the Main Window, select Time Request (RQ) from the drop-down list on the button bar, then click on the appropriate 'magnifying glass' button, or
    • A previous Time Request search can be replaced by a new one by right-clicking on a TIMEREQUEST node in the Search Results Tree and selecting By Lab.
  2. Set the search criteria in 'Search by Lab' popup.
    • Username
    • Given Name
    • Family Name
    • PI Name
    • Status
    • Billing Period
    • Start Date
    • End Date
    • Spectrometer
    • Sort By
    • Lab Name is automatically set to the default lab of the current user and cannot be changed in this popup.
    • User Name a drop-down list of all users who have submitted requests to that lab.
    • PI Name can be set to search for the name of the Principal Investigator on a Target Request. Wildcard Characters are allowed; for example, if 'John L. Markley' is the entry in the PI Name field of a record,'*Markley*' will find the record while 'Markley' will not. Leaving a '*' will retrieve records regardless of PI.
    • Request Status is a drop-down list of Request Statuses.
      • NEW
      • SUBMITTED
      • VALID
      • INVALID
    • Target Status is a drop-down list of Target Status entries maintained by the Lab Master, for example Accepted/Active, Accepted/Work Stopped, Deficient, Pending, Rejected.
    • Request Category is a drop-down list of Request Category entries maintained by the Lab Master, for example Internal or External.
    • Labfund is a drop-down list of various sources of funding maintained by the Lab Master.
  3. Click Search in the search popup.

Search By List

  1. Open the 'Search By Number' popup.
    • In the Main Window, on the Search menu's Target Request (TR) submenu, click By Number, or
    • In the Main Window, select Target Request from the drop-down list on the button bar, then click on the appropriate 'magnifying glass' button, or
    • A previous search can be replaced by a new one by right-clicking on a TARGETREQUEST node in the Search Results Tree and selecting By Number.
  2. Set the search criteria in 'By Number' popup.
    • Request Number is Target Request ID, for example '17913'will bring up the record TR.17913.
  3. Click Search in the search popup.
