Note

Save As New PI

This saves the PI as new in the database.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the PI menu click Save As New PI, or click the Save As New PI button in the button bar.

Save PI

This saves the PI in the database.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the PI menu click Save PI, or click the Save PI button in the button bar.

Delete PI

This deletes the PI from the database.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the PI menu click Delete PI.
  3. Click Remove PI in 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Refresh PI

This reverts the data for the PI to the version in the database.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the PI menu click Refresh PI, or click the Refresh PI button in the button bar.

Note

Clear PI

This clears the PI data, i.e. the bottom part of the PI window.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the PI menu click Clear PI.

Close PI

This closes the window.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the PI menu click Close PI, or click the X button on the window's Title bar.

Search By Owner

This searches the PI records of the Default Lab and returns the ones that fit the search criteria in the upper part of the PI window.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the Search menu click By Owner.
  3. Set the search criteria in 'Search by Owner' popup.
  4. Click Search in the search popup.

Search By Date

This searches the PI records of the Default Lab and returns the ones that fit the search criteria in the upper part of the PI window.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the Search menu click By Date.
  3. Set the search criteria in 'Search by Date' popup.
    • Created By is the User Name of the person who created the PI record. Wildcard Characters are allowed.
    • Created Start Date is the earliest date the PI record was created. To set it to an '*', click on it, then clear, or enter an '*', into any of the Year, Month or Day fields.
    • Created End Date is the latest date the PI record was created. To set it to an '*', click on it, then clear, or enter an '*', into any of the Year, Month or Day fields.
    • Modified By is the User Name of the person who last modified the PI record. Wildcard Characters are allowed.
    • Modified Start Date is the earliest date of the last modification of the PI record. To set it to an '*', click on it, then clear, or enter an '*', into any of the Year, Month or Day fields.
    • Modified End Date is the latest date of the last modification of the PI record. To set it to an '*', click on it, then clear, or enter an '*', into any of the Year, Month or Day fields.
  4. Click Search in the search popup.

Report

This creates a Text report for the PI, and shows it in the Board.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the Report menu click Report.

Text Report All

This creates a Text report for every PI in the Default Lab and saves it to the disk.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. On the Report menu click Text Report All.
  3. If you want to save the file in a different folder, locate and open the folder.
  4. In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
  5. Click Save.

Record XML Dump

This creates an XML dump for the PI record, and saves it to the disk.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. In the Report menu click Record XML Dump.
  3. Set the values in 'XML Report' popup.
    • Inline DTD determines if the Document Type Definition (DTD) should be included in the file.
    • Formatting (indents and newlines) determines if the resulting file should be formatted.
    • File Name is the name of the file. To set it, click on the field, then set the values in the 'Save' popup.
      • If you want to save the file in a different folder, locate and open the folder.
      • In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
      • Click Save.
  4. Click Report.

Bulk XML Dump

This creates an XML report for every PI in the Default Lab and saves it to the disk.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. In the Report menu click Bulk XML Dump.
  3. Set the values in 'XML Report' popup.
    • Inline DTD determines if the Document Type Definition (DTD) should be included in the file.
    • Formatting (indents and newlines) determines if the resulting file should be formatted.
    • File Name is the name of the file. To set it, click on the field, then set the values in the 'Save' popup.
      • If you want to save the file in a different folder, locate and open the folder.
      • In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
      • Click Save.
  4. Click Report.

Add Fund

This adds a new row to the Funds table.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Funds field.
  3. Enter data into the editable columns of the new row.

Remove Fund

This removes the selected row from the Funds table.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the Funds field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Funds field.

Add Group Member

This adds Sesame Users to the Group Members table.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Group Members field.
  3. Select the User(s) to be added in the 'User Search' popup:
    1. Set the criteria for the 'Users whose Name Starts With Letter...' query in the Search Parameters part of the popup.
      • Name Type is a dropdown list of 'Username', 'Family Name' and 'Given Name' choices.
      • Name Starts With is a dropdown that contains the English alphabet.
    2. The Search is automatically executed whenever either of the Search Parameters is changed. The Users matching the query will be shown in the Users field in the Search Results part of the popup. To sort the Users table by a different column, double click on the particular column's header.
    3. Select the User(s) to be added by clicking on the checkbox in the Selected column of the Users table.
  4. Click OK to add the Selected User(s).

Note

Remove Group Member

This removes the selected row from the Group Members table.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the Group Members field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Group Members field.

Note

Display URL

This displays the website associated with the PI in the default web browser.

  1. Make the PI window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the URL Field.
