Memberships View

  • Shows the Associations the current User is Member of, the pending Invitations and Applications, and the Type of each.
  • Every Sesame User can be a Member of any number of Associations.
  • Every Sesame User can remove a Membership, i.e. leave an Association at any tyme.
  • The Master of an Association can invite other Sesame users to become Members of the particular Association, and he also can remove any Member from the Association. However, a Master can not force no Sesame user to become a Member of an Association.
  • An Invitation from an Association can be accepted or refused. By accepting it, the current User becomes a Member.
  • Applications are created by the User to request Membership to some Association Types.
  • An Association's Resources, and all the data created by Users as Members of an Association are only visible and accessible to the Members of the particular Association. Once a Member leaves the Association, his data will stay in the Association, and will be not accessible by him, even if the data were created and owned by him.
  • Every Sesame User is automatically Member of the 'World' Lab.

Fields

  • Default Lab shows the Default Associations for the current user, and the Membership Type.
    • Name is the Association name.
    • Type is the Membership Type.

      • Site Staff
  • Memberships shows the Associations the current user is Member of, and the Membership Type.
    • Name is the Association name.
    • Type is the Membership Type.

      • Site Staff
      • Site Permit
  • Invitations shows the pending Invitations from different Associations and their Types, issued to the current user.
    • Name is the Association name.
    • Type is the Membership Type.

      • Site Staff
  • Applications shows the pending Applications to different Associations and their Types, issued by the current user.
    • Name is the Association name.
    • Type is the Membership Type.

Refresh Memberships

  1. Make the Memberships window active in the Board.
  2. On the Memberships menu click Refresh Memberships.

Note

  • The content of the Memberships window will be reloaded from the database. Equivalent to closing and reopening Memberships.

Close Memberships

  1. Make the Memberships window active in the Board.
  2. On the Memberships menu click Close Memberships, or click the X button on the window's Title bar.

Note

Change Default Lab

  1. Select a row in Memberships field.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Memberships field.

Note

  • The ICON will be grayed out for some rows, based on the Type. For Example, to set a Default Lab, one needs to select a row that has Lab Member for Type.
  • A Sesame User may belong to an unlimited number of different Labs, however, only the records of a single Lab can be searched, viewed, modified and created at any one time.
  • A Sesame User can only manipulate the records in the currently designated Default Lab.
  • Change Default Lab will remove all the data from the previous Default Lab, both from the Main Application Window and from the Board.
  • The Site Admin, Site Permit, Site-PI Relation, and Site Staff are Site related Types used by Sundial Views.
  • A Sesame User may have access to unlimited number of different Sites.
  • The Default Site determines the default values and privileges for Sundial Views.
  • For a Lab, this is equivalent to Change Default Lab.

Remove a Membership (Leave an Association)

  1. Select a row in Memberships field.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Memberships field.
  3. Click OK in 'Are You Sure' popup.

Note

  • Every user can remove himself from an Association.
  • A user can not remove a 'Site Permit' Membership, as they are established by Permits which are mastered by PIs.
  • A Master of an Association can not remove himself from the mastered association.
  • If an Association was accidentally removed, i.e. the user accidentally removed himself from an Association, the Lab Master of the particular Assocaition needs to issue in Invitation to the user. After accepting the Invitation, the particular user will be again a Member of the Association.

Accept an Invitation

  1. Select a row in Invitations field.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Invitations field.

Note

  • This operation will remove the selected Association from the Invitations field, and will add it to the Memberships field.
  • If an Invitation was accidentally accepted, the user can remove the Association from Meberships field.
  • If after a login the Memberships window appers automagically in the Board, there is at least one pending Invitation to an Association.

Refuse an Invitation

  1. Select a row in Invitations field.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Invitations field.
  3. Click OK in 'Are You Sure' popup.

Note

  • If an Invitation from an Association was accidentally removed, the Master of the particular Association can reissue an Invitation to the user.

Issue an Application

  1. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Applications field.
  2. Click on the Name field and select from the dropdown the Site the Application is issued to.
  3. Click on the Type field and select from the dropdown the Membership type for the application. Only the relevant types will be shown.
    • Site-PI Relation
  4. Click Create to issue the Application.

Note

  • Only the Users who are PIs, i.e. are matering a PI Type Association can issue Applications.
  • An accidentally issued Application can be removed.
  • When the Site Admin for the Site the Application was issued for logs in to Sesame next time, he will be presented with the Assocaitions window, to resolve the pending Application.

Remove an Application

  1. Select a row in Applications field.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Applications field.
  3. Click OK in 'Are You Sure' popup.

Note

  • An accidentally removed Application can be reissued.

View Association Profile and Membership List

  1. Select a row in any of the Deafult Lab, Memberships, Invitations, or Applications fields, and clikc on the 'Blue Eye' ICON button on the right side of the field that contains the selected row,
    or,
    Double Click on a row in any of the Deafult Lab, Memberships, Invitations, or Applications fields.

Note

  • Depending on the Associaton Type, one or two windows will appear in the Board. The Association Profile will be always shown. The Members of the Association will be shown in a window titled User List, but not for every Type.
  • In case the User List window is shown, see View User Profile.

View User Profile

  1. Make the User List window active in the Board,
  2. Double Click on a row,
    or,
    Drag and Drop a row to the Board.

Note

General Comments

  • To open the Memberships window in the Board, on the Options menu click Memberships.
  • To make the Memberships window active, if the Board is visible, on the Window menu click Memberships, or click on the Memberships window's Title bar.
  • If after a login the Memberships window appers automagically in the Board, there is at least one pending Invitation to an Association.
  • The upper and bottom part of the window can be resized by dragging the divider between the two parts.
